WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT TRAINING
The Birmingham Urban League’s Workforce Development Training Program is designed to train eligible participants—youth and adults. Participants develop skills that lead to proficiency in computer applications, navigating the Internet, job readiness and improved financial literacy. Upon successful completion of the program, participants are equipped with marketable educational and technological skills that have a direct impact on their ability to obtain and maintain employment. Job placement assistance is also available.
Youth Empowerment Program (YEP)
The Birmingham Urban League provides a comprehensive workforce development initiative for out-of-school youth/young adults, ages 18-24, who reside in Jefferson County. Participating youth/young adults will receive educational enrichment, training, work experience and job placement assistance. Eligible program participants will also earn while they learn. Youth Empowerment Program Services include:

Pre-Employment Training

The Birmingham Urban League, in conjunction with community and faith-based partners, will deliver the academic, career exploration and personal development experiences that are prerequisites to launching successful careers.
